    We have assigned the function "Deoxyribose-phosphate aldolase (EC 4.1.2.4)" to the encoded protein. The protein occurs in 1 subsystem: "Deoxyribose and Deoxynucleoside Catabolism". In "Deoxyribose and Deoxynucleoside Catabolism", it appears to play a functional role that we have not associated with any other gene, and it occurs in close proximity on the chromosome with 3 other genes from the same subsystem. The function of genes having the same functional roles have been described in Thermococcus kodakarensis (15205420). This is a homologous protein which implements the same function.
